Nervous system regulation work has many components, but at it’s core it’s learning to accurately communicate with the nervous system in it’s own language - the language of sensations and feelings. When we can accurately hear our bodily signals and feel safe enough to feel and process all of our emotions, even old ones that never got the attention they deserved, we can let go of all sorts of unhelpful or suboptimal coping mechanisms. We can learn tools to return to regulation from freeze or shutdown, or come down from anxious fight or flight states. This helps us regain internal freedom and flexibility, change limiting core beliefs and increase resilience resulting in being able to be fully present in the world and at home in our own bodies. We can then feel our best and live more fully from a place of openness.
